Our annual camp this year was to Adelboden in Switzerland. 40 of us travelled there with JEKA. We had an absolutely fantastic time with plenty of activities and some great fun. Thanks to all who took part for your co-operation in making this a great trip.

We went back to Leahy's open Farm again this year for our day out. On the way we stopped at an indoor playground in Midleton and met some people showing old military equipment at the army surplus store next door.. We then went to "Al's" Restaurant for a lovely meal. In the afternoon we went to Leahys where we met loads of animals and had some great fun looking for Leprachauns.

Our Macaoimh went to Mount Melleray Scout Centre for the week end of 23rd to 25th May. Fifteen Macaoimh and 4 leaders had a great time in the Centre. The climbing wall and the zip wire were great favourites. On Saturday we had a lovely hike to the Cross where we did some map and compass work. On Sunday we visited the famous towers in Lismore, on the way home.

West Cork Scout County celebrated the Centenary of Scouting in Ireland, with a County Camp at the Race Course in Leap on the last week end in April. Scouts and Macaoimh camped on Friday and Saturday nights with the Beavers arriving for the day on Saturday. Plenty rain on Friday night saw some muddy Cubs and Scouts but Saturday dawned bright and clear. Plenty of activities kept everybody busy for the camp. Some groups availed of the opportunity to complete their Centenary challenges. Our Group completed 100 laps of the race course and our Beavers made 100 Rice Krispie Buns which were enjoyed by all. We had a big chocolate Birthday cake which we enjoyed and shared with Pat Roche, Provincial Commissioner and Fr. Cian O'Sullivan, a former member of our Troop who celebrated the Centenary Mass.

The West Cork County Shield was held over the week end 28th to 30th March at Brinny Scout Camp Site. The weather for the entire camp was extremely bad with wind and rain, frost an d hailstones being thrown at our entrepid Scouts. In spite of the weather a full programme was carried out including a hike to the Paps in Kerry

The Scout Troop spent a week end in Mount Melleray Scout Centre from 29th February to 2nd March. We hiked up Knockmealdown on Saturday. The climbing wall in the Centre was very popular. As we had the Centre to ourselves we were able to spend a lot of time on the wall.
